I also ran a 10 last week just for the points. I was trying to think when the last time I had run 6.2 miles in one shot. Best I can remember is that it may have been at Fort Campbell during my time there. Six mile runs were pretty common for an Infantry unit. I seem to remember doing at least one a week. What I do remember for sure is the humidity being so think in the morning you could actually see the water vapors hovering above the ground from 3 or so feet to 30.
Looking back and being in my late 20’s not much was said or complained about having to run in such conditions, but now looking back if someone would ask me to do that today they would get a resounding…”Go piss up a rope,” from me!
